If I could leave a negative 10, I would. I started the home-buying process following a short-notice PDS notification to move from the midwest to the east coast during the winter holidays. I was assigned Merfat Mohammed from Coldwell Banker Realty. She was very curt and did not communicate certain aspects of the home buying process clearly, leaving me feeling blindsided often. There were a few times where Merfat went around me to prompt either the loan officer team or the title company to call me if I wasn't moving fast enough for her. She also would interject herself into emails between me and other parties involved in the home buying process in a demeaning way. It became so contentious, that I called her broker, Debi Hughes, to try another alternative of finishing the sale. When I first spoke to Debi, she told me she was aware that Merfat can come off abrasive, but that she works very hard and means well. I informed Debi about the issues I was having with Merfat, and asked if I could have another realtor carry out the remainder of the sale with the understanding that Merfat would be paid for her labor. Debi agreed, and assured me that Merfat would not contact me again. This, however, was untrue as I continued to receive emails and texts directly from Merfat for the remainder of the sale, despite circling back to Debi about this and receiving written confirmation that Merfat was told not to contact me again. To add insult to injury, Merfat alone was present at the final inspection and at the closing appointment. Debi did not tell me Merfat would be there beforehand which made closing extremely uncomfortable, and put a huge damper on what was supposed to be a happy day. When Debi asked me how closing went afterwards, I told her I was unhappy at closing because Merfat was there, and that she should have told me that Merfat would be there in her place so that I could mentally prepare due to the circumstances. Debi informed me that she herself couldn't be there, and that Merfat insisted to be there, which gave me the impression that what Merfat wanted was prioritized above the satisfaction of the customer. My entire experience with Coldwell Banker Realty was poor and I was handled with no compassion, despite completing this sale during a short notice-PCS and all parties being aware of this piece of information. I would never recommend Coldwell Banker Realty to any other military member or veteran.
